Jeans: How deep is the division? – Lightweight May 2013

For a long time the Lightweight Division has been referred to as the deepest division in Mixed Martial Arts and for a long time it has been clear to see why. However I believe the division is currently the shallowest it has been since BJ Penn beat Diego Sanchez in 2009.

In October 2012 there were 6 guys who all had a solid argument for a title shot:
Frankie Edgar – Coming off a close/controversial championship loss
Nate Diaz – Riding a 3-0 Streak since returning to Lightweight

Barnett to the UFC?

After Barnett's win at the weekend everyone was hoping to see Barnett back in the UFC. Unfortunately he has had issues with the UFC in the past and it looked like we would not see Barnett in the UFC competing with the best heavyweights, or will we.

Nothing has been confirmed, but Josh Barnett has been added to the list of fighters on UFC.com. Even though nothing has been confirmed it is looking quite good that we will see Barnett (the former UFC heavyweight champion) back in the UFC.
